The HfG Karlsruhe mourns the death of colleague and friend Zaur Ahlimanov, who passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2022.

Born in 1978 in Baku (Azerbaijan), Zaur Ahlimanov was a trained dancer, he played the piano and spoke several languages. He had been employed as a housekeeping staff member at the HfG since June 2007 and was a face of the HfG to the many people who had come to see him since then. Because of his education and affinity for the arts, he felt very comfortable in the creative work environment at HfG. In his 15 years at HfG, Zaur Ahlimanov was always about supporting students, staff and faculty and making even the most difficult things possible. He left his mark on the university with his fundamentally optimistic attitude, his energy, his constant willingness to help, and his sense of humor.

Zaur Ahlimanov leaves a big gap at the HfG. We will remember him with gratitude, and our heartfelt condolences go out to all who knew and experienced him.
