The work is inspired by current knowledge on communication between fungi (mycelium) and efforts to compare this type of information exchange with the human brain. Fungi form highly complex structures that allow them to respond precisely to their environment. At the same time, brains often seem to make disconnected or illogical decisions in subjective perception. So what does intelligent life mean? To what extent do "life forms" (functions of various organisms) shape the associated "form of life" (social, cultural contexts)? (cf. Stefan Helmreich's "Alien Ocean: Anthropological Voyages in Microbial Seas").
The stones, wrapped in translucent scraps of fabric reminiscent of organic material, are symbolic of the depression that seems to completely fill body and mind. At the same time, they are what I collected during the emergence from my last depressive episode and what I associate with healing moments in nature.
