BBQ Workshop

How do you turn scrap metal, wood scraps, rope and cardboard tubes into a joint celebration?
Under the guidance of students from the Product Design deepartment of the HfG Karlsruhe, the first semester students were introduced to the workshop and created all the tools and utensils to create a barbecue for the entire department. Cups and plates were sculpted from clay, scrap metal was combined into eating and grilling utensils, and other parts were assembled into a grill on which meat and vegetables could be prepared. The loose hodgepodge of materials were transformed into stools or benches where everyone gathered around a fire pit outside the college to start the semester together.
