Inside Sonic shows the creative exploration of sound in the field of tension between technology and artistic expression by students from the Media Art Sound department at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design.
Over the past semesters, various aesthetic concepts for immersion and multi-channel sound have been developed and reflections on the perception of spatial sound have been explored. The focus is on music-related and artistic practices as well as sound art issues relating to space, electronics and sound. The approaches developed make it possible to spatialize the pieces with ambisonic processes or to innovatively design them using unconventional techniques such as the diffusion approach.
The program is a collaboration with students of the Karlsruhe University of Music (HfM) and Markus Hechtle, Professor of Composition at the HfM, as well as students of the South African College of Music (SACM) of the University of Cape Town (UCT), an exchange project of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation BWS plus.
