The Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design is looking for a committed and experienced artistic staff member (m/f/d) who will actively participate in teaching and supervising students. The focus of this position is on further developing the quality of teaching and student support. Remuneration is based on TV-L up to pay grade E13, depending on personal qualifications. This qualification position is initially limited to a period of three years and can be extended to a maximum of six years.


Ihre Aufgaben umfassen:

Developing and conducting introductory courses in dialogue with the specialist group in order to connect students to the faculty and establish a collaborative academic environment

Promoting a critical and practice-oriented understanding of media art with a strong focus on performative practices and time-based media

Guiding students in the resource-conscious exploration and testing of their artistic interests, linking theory and practice

Initiating and leading cooperative research projects that involve students in research relevant to the field

Conducting workshops, coordinating seminars, and preparing public presentations and exhibitions

Contributing to an inclusive community within the department by promoting diverse voices and perspectives in the curriculum and discourse

Providing organizational support for the self-administration of the Media Art department

Requirements for employment:

Completed qualified university degree in fine arts, media arts, performance studies, or a comparable field of study

Experience in artistic practice and/or research in the field of time-based media and performance

Proven teaching experience and experience with group processes

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive academic environment

Very good German language skills and a confident command of written and spoken English
