In the light of the current Corona pandemy, it is the duty of the HfG Karlsruhe to protect the wellbeing of their members and to hinder the further spreading of the disease. After numerous concerts, exhibitions and events have already been cancelled, the leaderboard of the HfG has come to the decision, that it is absolutely necessary to limit the number of social contacts at the university and to minimize the possibilities of spreading the virus.

Starting Tuesday, 17th of March 2020, die HfG will be closed for the public, students and employees alike. The ZKM, the library and the Städtische Galerie, which are situated in the same building, are closed, too.

We are continuing the operation of the HfG online. Referring to the mail of the chancellor from 13.3.2020, all employees should send in their application for home office via mail. Employees should work from home. Work tasks and organization should be cleared with your supervisors. If home office is not possible, the time until 19.4.2020 can be used to take off overtime. If online training or eduction is available, it can be paid for by the HfG, following the normal rules and after a consensual agreement. Students should work from home, too.

All members of the HfG should leave their workplace in an orderly fashion and are to secure their rooms (for ex. Turn off machines/devices, close the windows, take out the trash). An emergency team of facility management and IT department will be formed.

We will keep you informed via our mailing system, homepage and our social media platforms.

Stay healthy, safe and, if possible, at home!
