Portraits of HfG graduates: Christian Claus

Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design was first established as a progressive school on April 15, 1992. It was founded by Heinrich Klotz between the years 1989 and 1992, together with the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. The combination of teaching, research, and exhibition institutions addresses the given artistic and pedagogic task of relating traditional arts to media technology and electronic production processes.

Portraits of HfG graduates: Christian Claus
GOTTALISTEN
In the video series "Portraits of HfG graduates", we present final projects by HfG students and thus give insights into the diversity and creativity of the university.

Christian Claus work "GOTTALISTEN", short for "Grab One Terrene Thought And Let It Slide To Eternal Nothingness", deals with the time of the October Revolution in Russia in 1917. The tape canvases refer to the artist Kasimir Malewitsch, who lived in Russia during this era. Claus also deals with the Russian religious philosopher, priest, mathematician and art historian Pavel Florenskij.
