Streift denn nicht uns selber ein Hauch der Luft, die um die Früheren gewesen ist? (Benjamin 1940). What happens when we pay attention to material elements and what, there, has presence otherwise? For this ceremony, we invite HfG students, staff, and guests to join in bringing rhythm and the four elements air, water, fire, earth together, collapsing all times and things for the intentions we set. Present Present Present is a ceremonial procession in time, action, intention: 1) what was before and still is present in the matter; 2) here and now, the present place of collapsing; 3) present, the gift, the intentions, the tools we want to seed. This will take place at the end of the semester, to leave the HfG fallow, the needed rest to compost and receive the autumn seminars.
