The trigger for Hanna Scherwinski’s work was the disappearance of an American from the Greek island of Hydra. Three objects that belonged to this man were collected by the artist and exhibited in the municipal clinic. Each of these objects can be converted into a short film using the enclosed tablet computer. The three films, like strange postcards from the afterlife, tell stories of death, disappearance or absence.

Hanna Scherwinski concluded her Bachelors at HAW Hamburg in the communication design department, with a focus on installation and video art. Since 2016, she has been studying scenography and media art at the University of Design Karlsruhe. Her work has been exhibited at “Designxport Hamburg,” “Mousonturm Frankfurt” and as part of the exhibition “Digital Innovation in Theatre” in 2017 at ZKM Karlsruhe, amongst others. She has worked with Thea Hoffmann-Axthelm for the theater collective Prinzip Gonzo and for the performance duo Schröder&Statkus as set design assistant at Schauspiel Leipzig.
