VDN is a project based on four robot vacuums equipped with a four-channel spatial sound installation. With his project, Azad Emin ironically questions the expectations society has of technology, and the role of big data (gathered through very same technology) in shaping these expectations. Big data has arguably become the most effective way for examining how society functions in the finest detail. It is therefore often claimed and promoted as the key element for understanding and building the “new world.”
