In seven comic-poetic miniatures, Caren Jeß describes human abysses in the garb of feathered animals such as the dirty peacock, the marsh tit, dancing flamingos or the buzzard in the concrete of reason. A play full of humor, subtle wordplay, and buxom situational comedy.
And just as the author exposes social prejudices and stereotypes layer by layer in the scenic plateaus, the scenography also changes in the course of the reading. In the process, the theatrical arrangement was unceremoniously reversed: the performers play on the bleachers, while the audience occupies the conventional stage space. At the beginning, still adorned with a lavish plumage on the top tiers, the actors let out a few feathers with each short story and each parade. For this purpose, a grandstand level was assigned to each of the five scenes, so that the actors eventually play their way down the tiers into the auditorium on stage. Finally, dressed only in a colorful bird mask and a black undercostume, they merge with the theater guests, who also received a bird mask at the entrance, into a colorful flock of birds.
