A woman disappears from her flat. The door is open. Is her disappearance a coincidence, is the woman's decision to leave her home self-determined, has something happened...?

Frau Verschwindet (Versionen) [Woman Disappears (Versions)] by Julia Haenni was published in 2019 by Verlag der Autoren in Frankfurt am Main. The author outlines different women's voices, sometimes entering into dialogue with themselves, sometimes with each other. The themes of disappearance and the role of women in our society are at the heart of this.

Das Neue Stück is a format in a long-standing cooperation between the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe, which deals with texts by contemporary authors. The students develop a staged reading that normally takes place in the studio of the Staatstheater.

In the summer semester of 2020, the group developed an audio walk through Südstadt that lasted about an hour and was able to do justice to the time - in the midst of the pandemic. The visitors, who gathered at the Staatstheater, were given a map with marked stations, headphones, an mp3 player and a seat for the walk. The texts (Marie-Joelle Blazejewski, Lucie Emons) read by the actresses guided the participants audio-visually through the streets. The walk was supplemented by various interventions: e.g. the distribution of yoghurts, notices of flats in the estate agents' office, resting stations and a live moment with the actresses Lodi Doumit and Antonia Mohr in a vacant shop in Schützenstraße.
