People migrate for a variety of reasons: To improve their quality of life, to have new experiences and discover new opportunities, to join family members, to escape persecution, or to escape environmental or other threats. For whatever reason one decides to go abroad, leaving home brings new opportunities but also new challenges.

What happens when the new place seems strange and inaccessible?

The film poetically explores the multifaceted emotional experience of nostalgia, the representation and visualization of feelings. In doing so, Dominic Thiel is also concerned with creating a cinematic atmosphere that immerses the viewer in the film world through the power of the interplay of image and sound - a capacity that the medium of film is able to exploit like no other.
