The Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) is seeking to fill the following position as soon as possible:
Parental Leave Replacement (100%) – Position in Human Resources and University Administration
The State Academy of Design (HfG) Karlsruhe is seeking a dedicated employee (m/f/d) to serve as a parental leave replacement in the Human Resources and University Administration department on a full-time (100%) basis. Compensation is based on the TV-L collective agreement up to pay grade E 9b, depending on individual qualifications. The position is temporary for the duration of the parental leave replacement and is expected to last one year.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Independent handling of personnel administration tasks (in particular drafting employment and service contracts, as well as processing payments for teaching assignments, guest lectures, and travel expenses)
- Communicating with professors, staff, and applicants in German and English
- HR controlling (e.g., monitoring personnel costs, compiling statistics, etc.)
- Assisting with all HR matters and supporting the Chancellor
- Independently researching and preparing decision papers on topics across the entire university sector
- Serving as a liaison and collaborating with other organizational units, particularly the Budget Department

Qualifications:
- A degree in higher non-technical administrative service or a comparable qualification, ideally with a focus on human resources
- Initial professional experience, preferably in higher education administration; knowledge of the higher education landscape as well as internal university processes and structures is an advantage
- Knowledge of human resources work and a good understanding of labor and civil service law are desirable
- Proficiency in Office applications is required; familiarity with HIS applications is an advantage
- Independent, structured, and responsible work ethic; high level of commitment and service orientation; as well as teamwork skills, loyalty, and discretion
- Very good command of German and fluency in spoken and written English
