Research Group KIM receives grant from the Volkswagen Foundation for the investigation of the COVID-19 pandemic

The research group on artificial intelligence and media philosophy (KIM) at the HfG has received the “Corona Crisis & Beyond” grant by Volkswagen Stiftung within the framework of the “AI and the Society of the Future” program. Four PhD students are invited to apply and investigate the role of AI models and knowledge models in general in predicting and mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic.

The research projects will focus on the fields of contact-tracing apps, global logistics, on-line education and humanitarianism, resulting in four publications and a symposium on the trustworthiness and instability of modeling techniques.
