The birth certificate of radio in Germany is dated October 29, 1923. Just four years later, Charles Lindbergh's spectacular flight across the Atlantic could be followed by radio. From then on, world events reached even the most remote corners. All it took was the push of a button. Stephan Krass takes his readers on a brilliant journey through one hundred years of radio - from the promising beginnings in the Weimar Republic to the Gleichschaltung under Goebbels and the acoustic warfare of the Allied secret services to the legendary philosophical debates of the early Federal Republic, the radio plays, educational and entertainment programs, sports broadcasts and live reports. Biography

Stephan Krass, born in 1951, was an editor at SWR radio in Baden-Baden until 2017. He is the author of features, radio plays and literary texts. Various teaching assignments have taken him to universities in Germany and abroad. Since 2015, he has held an honorary professorship for literary art at the HfG Karlsruhe and is a lecturer at the University of Hildesheim.ANNE HAMILTON:Anne Hamilton works as an editor and publisher for zu Klampen Verlag.
