BookBoi is a student’s initiative of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. BookBoi publishes (and sells) student’s work. BookBoi is therefore a publishing platform.
BookBoi publishes and distributes printed matter from all HfG departments and the spaces in between. Publications range in content and form, from magazines and interdisciplinary works by editorial teams and research groups to more focused solo works – anything bound or unbound finds a home here. Events hosted by the fluctuating group behind BookBoi are held in honour of newly released books and to invite a broader public to have a look through BookBoi’s collected conceptions and productions.
Our books take us on trips around Europe to independent book fairs and shops, trying spots and meeting likeminded friends in the world of independent publishing. This year part of our books travelled to the art book fair in Shanghai for the first time. They were very excited!
BookBoi also offers financial, editorial, and other support to students at HfG Karlsruhe to produce larger print editions of their books by means of the BookBoi Grant.
