A cooperation with Reactor Basel and the Bio Design Lab of HfG

"Salm Ethos" was originally conceived for the exhibition "Experimental Ecology" at the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger. The play is based on a true story and an idea by Michelle-Marie Letelier and Karin Pittman.

Following last year's production "We Monads", the theater collective Reactor is presenting its latest production "Salm Ethos" this year.

The play will be performed at the historic Filter4 on the Bruderholz in Basel from August 22 to 29, 2024.

"Salm Ethos" tells the story of Gabriela, a young marine biologist whose research triggers a global scandal. She comes into conflict with powerful players in the aquaculture industry who threaten her scientific career.

The play focuses on the complex interdependence of humans and the environment, illustrated by salmon as a global commodity. It sheds light on ecological and economic factors as well as ethical issues surrounding farming, research and consumption.
