Do you have a box full of half-finished upcycling projects? Do you need an excuse to unpack your sewing machine and finally mend those holes in your pants? Or do you have a head full of creative ideas you’ve been wanting to try out for a long time?
Pack everything up and come on over!
From November 20–22, 2026, the Textile Design Jam will take place on the Lichtbrücke at the HfG Karlsruhe.
What is a Textile Design Jam?
For three days, participants will work together or side by side to bring textile ideas to life. The Design Jam offers a space for exchange, skill-sharing, and the chance to finally dedicate yourself to a project that’s been floating around in your head for a while.
This open-ended creative work is complemented by workshops. Tools will also be available so you can experiment with new techniques.
- You can participate for all three days or just part of the time.
- Feel free to bring your own sewing machines, materials, and projects you’ve already started.
- Everyone is welcome, even without specific ideas or their own materials—you’re sure to find inspiration on-site.
The Textile Design Jam is open to everyone. No prior experience in textile work is required.
On Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., the resulting works will be presented as part of a presentation and fashion show.
