Short Synopsis:
Harvest is a short documentary portrait of Alexander Gross, born in 1934 in the German Volga Republic, Russia. Alexander recounts the challenging life of a Volga-German family in the Soviet Union, marked by the constant threat of hunger, political upheaval, and forced relocations. For him, gardening represents an existential practice, and gardens themselves are places of loss, protection, prosperity, sowing, and ultimately, harvesting.
