Bütikofer's 'cut pictures' are composed of shapes. These are cut out of paper painted with acrylic, assembled into compositions and mounted on light wood panels using bookbinding glue. Bütikofer's pictures combine opposites. They invite us to endure divergent elements, to take pleasure in them. Barbara Bütikofer studied media art at the HfG under Candida Höfer and Ludger Gerdes.
