Freia Achenbach, academic assistant for product design at the HfG Karlsruhe, has been awarded one of the coveted art scholarships from the state of Baden-Württemberg. This makes her one of seven artists who are allowed to work and develop their skills at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
The scholarship not only offers financial support, but also the opportunity to explore new artistic paths in an inspiring international environment.
Freia Achenbach is a designer based in Stuttgart, Germany. Her approach allows movement between disciplines and playfully explores material, technology, form and color. In her projects, Freia Achenbach reflects on the metaphorical and social role of everyday objects to create sensitive and imaginative objects, furniture and spaces. After graduating from the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart in 2019, she founded the design duo anima ona together with June Fàbregas. She has been teaching as an academic assistant for product design at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design since 2022.
