3) academic/artistic work project which is expected to make a significant contribution to the research/development of artistic forms and means of expression,

4) acceptance as a doctoral candidate (in the case of a doctoral project) and

5) academic/artistic supervision by a professor at HfG Karlsruhe.

The following documents must be submitted:

5) diplomas and proof of income.

If it is an application for further funding, the application must be submitted with a report (max. 5 pages) detailing the current status of the work and a work plan and timetable for the completion of the work.

Scholarships are awarded by the Scholarship Committee appointed by the Senate. Scholarships are awarded subject to the allocation of funds by the Ministry of Science and Research. The scholarship is awarded in the form of a grant and does not exceed the monthly amount of 1000 EUR. The expected scholarship period is October 2024 - September 2025. For budgetary reasons, the scholarship will be paid as a one-off payment after the scholarship has been awarded. There is no entitlement to a scholarship or special allowance.

Eligibility for funding:

Anyone who already receives funding from public or private organisations for the same project cannot receive the scholarship. Annual income from employment for up to half of the regular working time is not taken into account. Annual income from employment for more than half of the normal working hours must be declared if it exceeds EUR 20,000 (after tax). This must be declared to the scholarship provider at the time of application, and any changes during the scholarship period must be reported immediately.

Employees of the HfG Karlsruhe are only eligible to apply if their work at HfG is not related to their planned artistic development project/doctoral thesis.

Reporting requirements:

The scholarship provider must be informed immediately of any change in income or an interruption/cancellation of the work project. An interim report on the progress of the work must be submitted during the funding period. A final report must be submitted to the HfG Karlsruhe no later than 6 months after the end of the funding period.

The application documents must be submitted to Melanie Schillo by 23 September at the latest:
