HfG alumna Lizzy Ellbrück will be exhibiting her work at the Centre Culturel Franco-Allemand (CCFA) Foundation in Karlsruhe from April 16 to May 22, 2026. The nonprofit foundation has a history spanning more than seventy years and fosters cultural innovation through innovative event formats in literature, visual arts, performance, music, and intercultural education. A particular focus is placed on collaboration with young people. The exhibition “A corner, a marginal figure, a spatial ligature, a dust catcher, an edgy witness, for niche wanderers” is part of the “Retour de Paris” series.
In her current exhibition, Lizzy Ellbrück explores the corner as a space between densification and exclusion. In poetic prose miniatures, she explores spatial transitions, ornamental breaks, and the language of the margin. In doing so, marginal phenomena—whether spatial, material, or metaphorical—take center stage as potential spaces for transformation, overwriting, and linguistic repositioning. Ellbrück thinks “around the corner” and treats the corner simultaneously as a space for thought and a shift in perspective.
